At Two Trees Art Gallery, we love sharing the work of artists whose vision complements our own love of nature and craft. Alongside our paintings and photography, we're delighted to welcome guest artists whose work adds new textures and perspectives to the gallery.
Claire Olivier
Claire has been creating ceramic work for over 25 years. In 2017 her family moved from Salt Spring Island to Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island. Living in beautiful Coastal British Columbia, close to the Salish Sea and Douglas fir forests nurtures and influences her creativity.
What distinguishes her work is that each piece is created by hand, without the use of a potter’s wheel. She may carve or impress designs and decorate with coloured slips and underglazes using time-honoured techniques. She utilizes both conventional kilns and surface firing methods, metal bins fueled with seaweed and other combustible organic materials. She seeks colour from direct contact with fire.
Her pit fired work strives to embrace that deep ancestral primal reaction to the arts made with fire, with the beauty of the cosmos, organic colour, curling smoke and scorching shadows.
Terra cotta and porcelain pieces employ more conventional methods that involves at least two firings in an electric kiln. Once finished, her creations are sealed with beeswax, commercial sealants, or clear watertight glazes.
Kelly Roziere is a ceramic artist and interior designer based in Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island. She is the founder of Cedar Street Objects, where she creates one of a kind functional art designed to bring colour, character, and joy to everyday rituals.
With her education and experience in interior design, Kelly brings a strong understanding of form, proportion, colour, and composition to her ceramic practice. Her work is recognized for its organic shapes, expressive hand painted surfaces, playful mark making, and thoughtful use of texture. Each piece is individually designed and made by hand in her Qualicum Beach, Vancouver Island studio, allowing the natural qualities of the clay and the maker's hand to remain visible. Kelly's bowls, mugs, vases, serving pieces, and small decorative objects are both useful and artful. Created to be enjoyed in daily life, every piece is original and intended to feel personal, collected, and completely unique.
Nadine Sallinen’s lifelong love of art began in childhood and has grown into a practice rooted in creative freedom, personal expression, and inspiration from the natural world around her. She lives on the Sunshine Coast with her husband and two dogs.
Working primarily in soft pastels, oil pastels, and watercolour, Nadine is drawn to detailed subjects that invite patience, focus, and presence—finding the process to be meditative and grounding.
Over the years, Nadine has explored pencil, ink, gouache, acrylic, mixed media, and other materials, allowing curiosity to guide her artistic development. Largely self-taught, she has built her technique through workshops, books, and hands-on practice, believing that the richest learning comes through doing. Her work reflects a lifelong devotion to art—one she now fully embraces and joyfully shares.
